Availability calendar

See when a car is booked or off the road, and block it when it must not be rented. DriveGo refuses any booking that overlaps a blocked period.

The Availability calendar shows, for one car, every period when it is not free: bookings, maintenance, accidents and the blocks you set. DriveGo checks this calendar before accepting each booking.

Steps: block a car

  1. Open Fleet, the car, then Availability calendar.
  2. Tap Block a period.
  3. Choose the start, the end and the type of block, then enter a reason.
  4. Tap Save. The period appears in the calendar and the car disappears from search for those dates.
  5. To lift a block you set, open the period and tap Unblock.

When two periods overlap

Two periods overlap as soon as they share a moment. A new period is free only if it ends no later than the other starts, or starts no earlier than the other ends.

  • A booking from the 3rd at 10:00 to the 5th at 10:00 and a block starting on the 5th at 10:00 do not overlap: the car can leave again at the exact time it comes back.
  • A block starting on the 5th at 09:00 overlaps that booking by one hour: it is refused.
  • Two identical periods always overlap.

The same rule applies to customer bookings, maintenance and blocks. If two customers book the same car for the same dates at the same moment, only one booking goes through.

What happens next

  • Customers see neither the reason nor the type of block: the car simply does not appear for those dates.
  • A maintenance that makes the car unavailable creates its own period and removes it when completed or cancelled. See Maintenance.
  • An accident blocks the car with no end date, until the last step of the follow-up. See Accidents.
