Insurance fees are what the customer pays to be covered while renting a given car. They are revenue for the agency. They are separate from the insurance policy the agency pays its insurer. Every car has one insurance included by default and, if you wish, upgrades the customer can choose at step 3.5 of the booking.

Steps

  1. Open Fleet, choose a car, then Car insurance fees.
  2. At the top, the Active insurance block shows the agency policy that covers the car.
  3. Below, each fee charged to the customer appears as a card. Tap Add a fee.
  4. Fill in the form: name, type, amount, calculation, customers concerned, rental length, included or upgrade.
  5. Read the preview under the form, for example "For a 3-day individual rental this adds MAD 45.00", then tap Save.
  6. Use Edit, Enable or Disable on a card to change it, and Renew cover when the policy reaches its end date.

The four calculations

CalculationAmount added to the booking
Per dayAmount × number of rental days
Fixed per bookingAmount, once
Percentage of bookingRental price after discounts × amount ÷ 100
Included0, shown as "Included" in the price breakdown, never hidden

Example: a Standard fee at MAD 12.00 per day adds MAD 36.00 to a 3-day rental. A 10 % fee on a rental of MAD 900.00 after discounts adds MAD 90.00. The detailed calculations are in Insurance: policies and fees.

A fee applies to a booking only if it is active, the pickup date is within its validity dates, the customer type matches and the rental length is within the band.

Validation rules

  • Only one active included by default insurance per car.
  • A fee cannot be both included by default and an upgrade.
  • For a percentage of booking, the amount must be between 0 and 100.
  • The minimum length cannot exceed the maximum length.

What the customer sees

At step 3.5 of the booking, the customer sees the included insurance and the upgrades that apply to their rental, with their total already calculated. Upgrades replace each other: choosing one replaces the previous one. Add-ons such as GPS or a child seat add up. See Book a car.

What happens next

When the car is booked, the chosen insurance becomes a line on the rental invoice and counts in the "insurance" revenue in Finance.
