Pickup and return inspections

Inspect the car at pickup and at return: checklist by area, required photos, mileage, fuel, condition score and signatures. The return is compared with the pickup.

The inspection is the proof of the car's condition. You do it with the customer at pickup (pickup inspection) and at return (return inspection). It combines a checklist by area, photos at set positions, the mileage, the fuel level and two signatures. It works fully offline and is never recorded twice.

Steps

  1. After preparation, tap Start pickup inspection. At the return, the return inspection opens from the return task.
  2. Read the mileage and choose the fuel level.
  3. Go through the list area by area. For each item choose Good, Minor, Major or N/A, add a Note if needed and tap Add a photo to illustrate.
  4. Take a photo at each required position.
  5. Photograph damage already known, then each new damage, and place it on the car diagram. See Damage report.
  6. Give an overall condition score from 0 to 100.
  7. Have the customer sign, then sign yourself.
  8. Tap Send inspection.

After you save: the inspection is attached to the booking as the pickup inspection, the car's mileage and fuel are updated, the task moves to Inspection completed and your manager is told an inspection is waiting for review. Each new damage creates a damage report with the status Reported.

The four checklist answers:

  • Good: no defect;
  • Minor: slight defect, the car can be driven;
  • Major: significant defect, to be reported;
  • N/A: the item does not exist on this car.

Each photo carries the time it was taken and, if you allowed it, the place. Details on taking and sending photos are in Photos and videos.

After you save: DriveGo automatically compares it with the pickup inspection of the same booking and works out the new damage, the mileage difference and the fuel difference. Your manager sees this comparison in the review. Damage charged to the customer is added to the invoice by a manager, never by the employee.

Correction requested

Your manager reviews each inspection. They approve it, or they request a correction with a note. In that case you receive a notification and the alert appears in My tasks. Open the inspection, read the note, fix what is asked (for example a blurred photo) and send it again.

An inspection is never recorded twice

Each inspection gets a unique number as soon as it is opened on your phone. If sending happens twice, for example after a network cut at the wrong moment, DriveGo recognises the number and keeps the inspection already received instead of creating a second one. Photos are recognised the same way.

What happens next

  • If the inspection belongs to your task, you can declare the car ready. See Pickups and returns.
  • The agency handles the new damage. See Damage.
